MADISON, AL (WAFF) -
The man charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of the accident in a deadly hit and run has bonded out of jail.
Authorities arrested 19-year-old Kyle David Morgan early Sunday morning. Troopers said he is the driver believed to be responsible for the hit and run that killed 6-year-old Matthew Dahl.
It happened around 8:10 p.m. Saturday night off Kinsale Drive in Madison County.
Troopers said Dahl was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a truck.
Dahl was air-lifted to Huntsville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Morgan's bond was set at $55,000.
Friends say Dahl was a student at Legacy Elementary. Legacy Elementary is collecting donations to help defray the cost of the funeral. The school is located at 165 Pine Grove Road in Madison. The front office staff will be accepting donations Tuesday through Thursday from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm.
