JOPLIN, MISSOURI - (AP) - The state of Missouri says the number of people still unaccounted for since the Joplin tornado is now at 105.
Missouri Department of Public Safety deputy director Andrea Spillars said Saturday that within that number, nine people have been reported dead by their families, but state officials are
working to confirm. A city spokeswoman said earlier Saturday that the death toll had risen to 139.
The Joplin tornado was an EF5 storm packing 200 mph winds. More than 900 people were injured.
Rescue crews with 600volunteers and 50 dog teams are still searching the ruins.
President Barack Obama will visit the area tomorrow.
