GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - More than three weeks after the April 27th tornadoes, Lake Guntersville State Park is ready to partly reopen.
They are offering deep discounts for those who want to come stay.
Many rooms at the lodge are also unusable but one wing and the pool will be open this weekend.
However, there's still no internet, cable, or working phone lines.
The campground, beach, and nearly all hiking trails will remain closed.
State forestry crews have been clearing debris to hopefully get the golf course open soon.
Officials say they removed about two-thirds of the nearly 3,000 downed trees, but there's still a lot of brush on the ground.
The goal is to have half the course open in time for Memorial Day weekend.
