A&M's Bradley Story Opens First Round Play in the NCAA Men's Golf Championship

Ocala, FL – Alabama A&M's Bradley Story opened first round play in the 2011 NCAA men's golf Championship today at the Florida Regional in Ocala, Florida on Thursday, May 19. The regional, hosted by the University of Florida, is a three-day, three-round tournament, with 18 holes each day.

Story earned the Southwestern Athletic Conference first-round bid when he shot a 66 on the last day of the SWAC golf championship too capture the individual title.

Story was pared with Hayden Christian of Georgia Southern University in the first round. The two teed off at 9:40 a.m. this morning.

The first Maroon & White player to participate in the NCAA's in men's golf in 10 years shot a 78 +6 and is 64th on the list after the first day of the regional.

On Friday, May 20th Story will be pared with Nuno Henriques of the University of Central Florida in round two.

The low five teams and low individual not on those teams at each of the six regional sites will advance to the NCAA Championships on May 31-June 5 at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
