The man shot in a drive-by shooting in Huntsville has died.

Police were called to a shooting scene at around 7:10pm on Tuesday at the traffic light of the Mastin Lake and Blue Springs Road intersection.

Huntsville Police said they found a man by the name of Tavaris Sentil Love laying outside of his vehicle, a silver Ford Taurus. Love was shot several times.

"It's ridiculous, people can just pull up to a stop sign and just shoot somebody. That is sad," said Huntsville resident, Jerry Hinton.

Witnesses said a vehicle pulled along side Love's vehicle, rolled down the window, and fired several shots from a large handgun.

Jerry's brother, Terry Hinton, was in a car at the same intersection when the shooting happened.

"He shot three or four times. He put my life and my grandson's life in jeopardy. He was shooting in our direction while we were waiting on the light to change. I hope they get him," said  Hinton.

Huntsville Police said Love died during surgery Tuesday night.  The passenger in Love's car was not injured.

Police said they are looking for the suspect's vehicle, which is believed to be a dark green SUV.

David: Showers and storms ongoing across the Valley

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
