HARVEST, AL (WAFF) - There was a very special delivery Monday morning at the Harvest Youth Club.
Brenda Martin, the multicultural director for the city of Huntsville, delivered hundreds of "comfort packs" to the club, courtesy of Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Martin was recently a guest speaker at the church, and the congregation wanted to do something to help storm victims. So they loaded her truck with 400 comfort packs, that included toiletries for men, women and children. They even included 300 homemade quilts.
The club's director, Melvin Allen, called this donation a blessing.
"It motivates us to continue to, each day, to address the needs of recovering this community," said Allen.
The Harvest Youth Club provides services to about 300 people within the Harvest community.
