TUSCALOOSA, AL (WSFA) -
In the aftermath of the tornado that slammed into the heart of Tuscaloosa last Wednesday more than 1,000 people went onto the missing list.
Now the number is being revised and the figures have plummeted.
Thursday, a week and a day after the tornado killed 41 in Tuscaloosa County, the number of missing persons stands at 25. Some 1,084 people have been cleared from the list.
A total of 12 search and rescue teams and 28 cadaver dogs are still searching through the rubble in Tuscaloosa.
The Tuscaloosa Area Volunteer Reception Center will open May 7th where volunteers can receive credentials. It will be located at the McAbee Center at 3801 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL. Starting Saturday, all volunteers must have credentials to enter and serve in affected areas.
