SOMERVILLE, AL (WAFF) The Colbert County Animal Services mobile adoption vehicle has visited several towns throughout the tornado hit areas of Alabama. Pet food and other assistance has been offered in places like Phil Campbell and Moulton.

The ASPCA is sending food and supplies to Decatur Thursday for shelters and rescues in the affected areas west of I-65. The City of Decatur is collecting food and other pet supplies to distribute as well. Huntsville will help folks east of I-65.

Decatur is looking for adoptions and rescues for some long-termers, as well as fosters for storm dogs and cats whose families lost their homes.

Two female puppies came in from Somerville Saturday night. Cupcake is the red pup and Muffin is in the background. They are actually the same size and are a 4 ½ month old mixed breed, each covered in hundreds and hundreds of ticks, including deep in their ears. They have been cleaned and wormed and are looking for foster homes.

If you are interested in fostering either of these puppies, contact Carol Wicks, Director of Animal Services for the City of Decatur at
