Message from City of Huntsville concerning storms and power outage

The City of Huntsville and all of North Alabama are facing a massive power outage.

Residents should prepare for an outage lasting up to 4 to 5 days in some areas. Huntsville Police are at a complete call-in.

Traffic lights will not be working and every intersection is now considered a four-way stop. Please avoid any and all impacted areas.

Residents should also avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.

City services in both Huntsville and Madison City will not operate on Thursday, April 28th. Non-essential employees of the City of Huntsville should not report unless otherwise instructed by their immediate supervisors.

The City of Huntsville will be hosting a news conference on Thursday April 28th at 8:30 a.m. at 320 Fountain Circle.

Local public and EMA officials, Huntsville Utilities, and Madison County Health Department officials will offer an update to our residents at that time.
