ALDOT to shutdown part of Hwy 431 S next week

ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Beginning Tuesday, April 26 through Thursday, April 28, the Alabama Department of Transportation plans to shut down Highway 431 southbound at Meighan Bridge, weather permitting.

The lane closure will be each night between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. so crews can replace broken concrete slabs near the bridge.

The U.S. 431 South detour will be U.S. 411 South to State Route 759 East to State Route 291 North (George Wallace Drive).

Local traffic is requested to use alternate routes if possible and use extreme caution if driving in the area.
