MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Madison County Commission unanimously approved of a water rate increase at a meeting Monday morning.
The new rates go into effect June 1st.
For the average residential customer using 6,500 gallons a month, the water bill will now include a base fee of $10 and $2.50 for the first 2,500 gallons. That would bring the average bill from $24 a month to $30.
Garver Engineering did a study and recommended a higher rate increase, but the Madison County water department the smaller increase.
