Stars game canceled

Tonight's game between the Carolina Mudcats and the Huntsville Stars has been postponed due to inclimate weather. The game will be made up tomorrow as part of a double header. First pitch is scheduled for 4:43 p.m. Gates will open at 4 p.m.

Saturday is McDonald's Youth Sports Saturday. All children wearing their youth sports or scout uniform will receive free admission to Joe Davis Stadium. There will be a salute to the Negro Leagues for Jackie Robinson Night before the first pitch. Former Negro League players Carl Holden and Eugene Scruggs will throw out the honorary first pitches. They will be joined by other Negro League players in Skybox 2 to tell stories about their playing days and the trials and tribulations they faced. Fans are welcome and encouraged to join them and hear more about the history of America's pastime. The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library will also be on the concourse to discuss the traveling exhibit they are currently hosting "Pride and Passion: The African American Baseball Experience."

The Bud Light Bullpen will be open from the time gates open at 4 p.m. until the last out of the first game. Twenty-ounce drafts of Bud Light and AmberBock are only $2!

Jesus Sanchez will start for the Stars in game one. Cody Scarpetta is scheduled to take the mound for Huntsville in game two.
