HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- After rolling through last weekend's Gulf South Conference Crossover Tournament, the Alabama-Huntsville (35-1-1) softball team became the first unanimous No. 1 pick this season in the National Fastpitch Coaches Assocation (NFCA) top-25 poll marking the third-straight week UAH has been atop the rankings.
The Chargers also stood firm atop the NCAA Division II South Region rankings this week ahead of Rollins, Tampa, Arkansas Tech and Valdosta State in the top-5. Barry, West Alabama, Arkansas-Monticello, Nova Southeastern and Florida Tech round out the ten teams in the poll.
Riding a school-record, 22-game win streak, UAH returns home on Sunday hosting Lambuth at 2 p.m. at the Charger Softball Complex on campus.
