Gamecocks Just Three Shots Out of Lead at Red Wolf Intercollegiate

JONESBORO, Ark. – Jacksonville State shot an opening round of 284 on Monday and his just three shots out of the lead at the Red Wolf Intercollegiate, hosted by Arkansas State at the Ridge Pointe Country Club.
Central Arkansas and Meridian each shot an opening round of 281 to lead the 18-team field, just ahead of the Gamecocks. Arkansas State and Louisiana Monroe are tied for fourth with a 287, while Oral Roberts is sixth with a 289.
Matthew Wallace shot the Gamecocks low round of the day with a 3-under par 69 and is tied for fourth place. Tom Robson is tied for eighth place after shooting a 2-under 70, while Andrea Schonbaum shot an even-par 72 to tie for 19th. Dorian Fernandez finished with a 73 to tie for 31st and Gonzalo Berlin carded an opening round of 74.
The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday, and the Gamecocks will be playing in the final group with Central Arkansas and Meridian at 8 a.m.
