I'm not psychic, but I'm about to make a prediction. When the oil companies release their next set of quarterly earnings statements, we'll see that they've made record profits. The price of gas has jumped dramatically in the past few weeks, and we're told it's because of unrest in other parts of the world. But let's be honest: sometimes it seems as if big oil just uses that as an excuse instead of a reason, and it hardly seems fair for them to make these huge profits by holding the rest of us hostage. I know engineers are working on cars that rely less on gas and more on alternative fuels, but the price of those vehicles puts them well out of the range of most working class families. We need to get off the gas price roller coaster by cutting our need for foreign oil. Until we do, we only have ourselves to blame every time we pay the outrageous price per gallon and help a handful of oil executives get even richer. I'm Vanessa Oubre and that's my take. What's yours?
