Fire at a Morgan County church rekindled again Wednesday morning.
Firefighters said it re-ignited around 3:30 Wednesday morning at the Bellview Baptist Church on Old Moulton Road. It took firefighters more than two hours to put out the hot spots. They had to use 86-thousand gallons of water on the church.
The roof on the back part of the church has collapsed and the walls have caved in on the building. Once they got the fire out, firefighters used a backhoe to pick through the medal left behind to prevent the fire from re-igniting again.
The fire first started at Bellview Baptist Church Monday night. Authorities believe it may have been struck by lightning.
