Huntsville Hospital works to raise money for mobile medical unit

Huntsville Hospital is working to raise money to fund a mobile medical unit.

The proposed Mobile Medical Unit would be used to provide a wide range of health services.

The unit would travel across 14 north Alabama counties, taking healthcare where it is needed most.

"We're very much going to be looking into those communities, out in those rural communities and those under-served communities to provide assistance for those people. But we're also going to be attending local events and football games and things like that so we can really spread the word and that awareness to everyone in our community," said Candy Burnett with Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

Among the fundraiser's being held for the medical unit include a Beach Boys concert later this month at the Von Bruan Center.
