KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The firsts keep on coming for the Alabama-Huntsville men's basketball team this season as junior guard Josh Magette (Birmingham) and sophomore forward Zane Campbell have been selected to the 16-member State Farm Division II All-America Team as voted on by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
Marking the first time in school history that two Chargers have garnered the honor in the same season, Magette and Campbell join only former UAH star Jason Smith, older brother of sophomore guard Jaime Smith (Birmingham), as Chargers selected to the prestigious squad. The honors come on the heels of First-Team All-South District honors for both Magette and Campbell and the duo are the only two honorees from the South Region.
A member of the exclusive 1,000 point club and the all-time assist leader for the Chargers, Magette averages 12. points-per-game and nearly eight dishes per contest. Cambpell leads the Chargers in scoring notching 14 points-per-outing and was earlier named the Gulf South Conference East Division Player of the Year.
Leading the Chargers to their first NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearance, Magette and Campbell were selected from the 88 All-District selections by the coaches.
