2011 marks the 10th year that Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers and WAFF48 have been working together to get criminals off our streets. In those 10 years, the Crime Stoppers reports that have aired on WAFF48 News have led to the arrests of over 1,900 people, closed more than 7,000 cases, recovered more than $4.5 million in stolen property and removed more than a million dollars in drugs from our streets. In fact, a criminal profiled during one of our Crime Stoppers segments has a 93% chance of being captured and many turn themselves in as soon as their profile airs. It's a program we're proud to be associated with. But as successful as this program is, it would not be possible without the active support of the community. So thank you for helping to make Crime Stoppers so successful and I hope you'll continue to support this very important community safety program. I'm Vanessa Oubre and that's my take. What's yours?
