As we move into severe weather season, I'd like to take a moment to talk about weather safety. The WAFF 48 Storm Team uses the most advanced storm tracking technology to keep you ahead of severe weather. But there's another important weather safety tool that our meteorologists highly recommend: a Midland weather alert radio. Just like a smoke alarm can alert you during a fire, weather alert radios provide advanced warnings when severe weather threatens and are particularly useful in situations when power may be out or during the overnight hours when you're sleeping. WAFF48 and Midland have been working together for several years to spread the word about the importance of weather radios. They're widely available, relatively inexpensive and very easy to use. You can find information on how to program your weather radio in the weather section of our website, WAFF.com. If you don't have one already, I hope you'll pick one up. I'm Vanessa Oubre and that's my take. What's yours?
