The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently released a study on how often people across the country exercise. Their research showed that the lowest rates of exercise are in the South and that Alabama is one of the top states for lack of physical activity during leisure time. It's an interesting study, especially when compared to another study they've done on diabetes. The states with high diabetes rates are the same ones with low exercise rates. Technology gives us plenty of options for things to do other than exercise—HD TV, video games, the internet and more. But it's also removed all excuses for NOT exercising. We now have things like mp3 players and exercise equipment with built in TVs that make exercise a lot less tedious. And advances in that equipment also makes the risk of injury less likely. So quit making excuses. Check with your doctor about the type of exercise that's right for you, then get moving. I'm Vanessa Oubre and that's my take. What's yours?
