Police search for man accused of stealing woman's purse from restaurant

MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Okay ladies, how often do you hang your purse on the back of your chair? One woman did at a Valley restaurant, leaving her with no purse and a bad case of indigestion.

We see a man on store surveillance video using a credit card to make a purchase at the Shell Mart on Highway 72 West. The problem is, he's using a stolen credit card.

Huntsville police say this all started at Tokyo Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar, off University Drive Sunday December 5th. A woman had her purse hanging on the back of her chair.

And a person hanging around inside apparently thought it looked more appetizing than the shrimp fried rice. And they "gobbled up it", taking it.

The man seen using a stolen credit card is a white man, wearing a blue and white shirt, glasses and an Alabama cap. If he's a Bama fan, he's been caught "crimson" handed instead of red handed.

And he's probably crimson faced with embarrassment. As clear as the surveillance video is, this should be easy money if you even remotely know him. If you do, start dialing now.

As the saying goes, "operators are standing by" for your anonymous phone to Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers at 256-53-Crime.
