RUSSELLVILLE, AL (WAFF) - What deputies originally investigated as a suicide is now a homicide.
35-year-old Jason Dewayne Green of Russellville was arrested and charged with killing his girlfriend 27-year-old Shay Nicole Ledlow.
Ledlow was found shot to death in the couple's home on Oak Hills Drive Friday night. Authorities say Green shot Ledlow in the head with a .44 magnum handgun.
Authorities also say Green initially called 9-1-1 and reported Ledlow had committed suicide, but evidence suggests otherwise.
Court records show that Green was arrested in December on domestic violence charges. He's out of jail on a $400,000 bond.
