DECATUR, AL (WAFF)- Morgan Price Candy Company has been a Decatur landmark for a quarter century. Now with new ownership, a new location, and a larger kitchen, the candy company will be making more sweet treats.
"Annie Powell made peanut brittle this morning about 6 a.m., and she's been with Morgan Price Candy since the beginning. Carol and Margaret are weighing it out and packaging it and trying not to eat any," said owner Nancy Curl.
It's hard not to sneak a taste with so many temptations around.
"Peanut brittle is very, very popular especially at Christmas time," said Curl.
She says they start taking Christmas orders around the first of November and they get very busy.
"Our number one seller is English Toffee," said Curl. "Number 2 is "Angel Bites" and "Heavenly Bites." Both contain a secret chocolate recipe.
Everything is made fresh in Decatur too.
"Everybody loves chocolate. And we love chocolate or we wouldn't be here," added Curl.
Morgan Price Candy Company is located on 6th Ave. near 14th Street.
