DECATUR, AL (WAFF)- Ronald Lewis Henderson Junior and Tavares Antwan Oliver are accused of robbing the People's bank on the Beltline in Decatur.
Two-off duty officers were nearby at the time of the robbery, saw the suspects, and chased the men until they crashed on Highway 31.
Decatur Lt. Jonathan Green says it was a case of being in the right place at the right time.
"I think they did a very good job. They followed their suspicion. Turns out something was amiss. We ended up catching bank robbers just minutes after committing the crime," said Lt. Green.
Oliver is also accused of robbing the Bancorp South on Hughes Road in Madison in October. He was arrested in that case after a chase that ended in Huntsville. He was out on bond for that robbery at the time the Decatur robbery.
Oliver is charged with two counts of first degree robbery.
Henderson is also charged with robbery. Both are being held on $300,000 bond.
