Decatur, AL -
DECAUTR, AL (WAFF) - Decatur police caught two men suspected of robbing the People's Bank on Beltline Road.
Police say the two suspects held up the bank just after 10:00 Wednesday morning with a gun and left with some cash. No one was injured in the robbery.
Officers in the area immediately spotted the suspects' vehicle and gave chase. The vehicle reached speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The driver lost control and hit a power pole near Mill Road and Highway 31.
The suspects ditched the car and led officers on a brief foot chase. Officer caught the suspects in a field near Chunn Street.
Officers say they found money and a gun inside the car.
The bank robbers have been identified as 24-year-old Ronald Lewis Henderson Jr. and 34-year old Tavares Antwan Oliver.
They have been charged with two counts of 1st Degree Robbery.
