Huntsville families walk to cure diabetes

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Families with a connection to type 1 diabetes will come together Sunday as they "Walk to Cure Diabetes."

This annual walk is the largest fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and it shines a light on North Alabama families who deal with diabetes on a daily basis.

Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects more than 24 million people across the country, including hundreds right here in the Tennessee Valley.

More than 85% of money raised through JDRF goes directly to research or research-related education.  They're closer than ever to finding a cure, and hope you will join them Sunday at the Target Shopping Center in Jones Valley to bring more awareness to this special cause.

Registration and activities begin Sunday, October 24th at 1 p.m., and the Walk will start at 3 p.m.
