Valley mother and soldier recovering after explosion

MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A Scant City mother injured by a bomb in Afghanistan is back in the U.S. recovering.

Family members said 23 year-old soldier Andrea Kelly arrived at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington D.C. Sunday afternoon.

The Arab Tribune reported that Kelley was riding in an army transportation truck Tuesday when a roadside bomb underneath the truck exploded.

Kelley is serving with the 287th Transportation Company out of Anniston.
