ATHENS, AL (WAFF) – A man wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun robbed a Dollar General store on Highway 72 West in Limestone County late Thursday night.

According to Limestone County Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt, the masked man walked into the store about 9:50 and demanded money from the cash register.

The man described as being 5' 10" tall and weighing about 140 pounds wore a camouflage shirt and jeans during the late night holdup.

He got the cash then ran away behind the store and got away through a field.

Tracking dogs from the Limestone Correctional Facility were brought in but never could pick up the suspect's scent.

No one was hurt during the robbery.
