Local kids win medals at Martial Arts Tournament

This past weekend four kids from Huntsville's Traditional Korean Martial Arts Academy won Gold Silver and Bronze Medals at the 2010 World Championship Hapkido Tournament held in Battle Creek Michigan.  There were competitor teams (with more than 100 kids) from Azerbaijan, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Germany, Italy, Korea, and the United States.

Eugene Ying-Ling, boys age 12, won a Gold Medal in Full Contact (padded) Sparring, a Gold Medal in Self Defense Techniques, a Silver Medal in Forms (precision defense movements), and a Silver Medal in Long Falling flying 16 feet through the air

Holland Joy Jurhs, girls age 9, won a Gold medal in Full Contact (padded) Sparring, a Silver Medal in Long Falling flying 9 feet through the air, and a Bronze Medal in Self Defense Techniques

Avril Nguyen, girls age 12, won a Gold medal in Self Defense Techniques, and a Silver medal in Full Contact (padded) Sparring (combat)

Christian Nesselrotte, boys age 9, won a Bronze Medal in Full Contact (padded) Sparring, and a Bronze Medal in Self Defense Techniques.
