AUBURN, Ala. – Former Auburn swimmers Eric Shanteau, Mark Gangloff and Tyler McGill were selected to represent the United States at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships, USA Swimming announced Saturday evening following the conclusion of the 2010 USA Swimming ConocoPhillips National Championships.
The Pan Pacific Championships is set to be held at the William Woollet Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, Calif., August 18-22.
Shanteau will compete in the 100 and 200 breast at the international event. The 2006 Auburn graduate concluded the weekend with a win in the 200 breast Saturday evening, touching in a time of 2:10.09. Shanteau also finished third in the 100 breast on Tuesday.
Gangloff earned a spot on the team after taking second in the 100 breast (1:00.42), while McGill was runner-up in the 100 fly on Thursday in a time of 52.20.
Also competing Saturday night were four student-athletes in Adam Klein, Micah Lawrence, Kyle Owens and Kohlton Norys. Klein finished fourth in the 200 breast in 2:13.05, while Lawrence was eighth on the women's side of the event in 2:29.70.
Owens and Norys swam in the bonus final of the 200 back with Owens taking 17th (2:02.63)and Norys finishing 18th (2:02.90).
