AUBURN, Ala. – Four Auburn swimmers in Eric Shanteau, Kohlton Norys, Tyler McGill and Kyle Owens swam during the evening session Friday at the USA Swimming 2010 ConocoPhillips National Championships at the William Wollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine.
Shanteau, a 2006 graduate from Auburn, came away with a fourth-place finish in the 200 IM, touching in a time of 2:00.03. Owens, a sophomore from Johnson City, Tenn., swam in the bonus final of the 200 IM and finished 18th in 2:02.91.
Norys, a rising senior from Visalia, Calif., and McGill reached the consolation final of the 100 free following the morning's preliminary session. Norys went on to finish 14th in 49.88, while McGill took 16th in a time of 50.65.
The final day of competition begins Saturday with the women's 800 free, women's 100 free, men's 200 back, women and men's 200 breast, and men's 1500 free. Preliminaries start at 11 a.m. CT and finals begin at 8 p.m. CT.
