AUBURN, Ala. – Hannah Riordan, a sophomore on the Auburn swimming team, was named to the fifty-two member team that will represent Canada at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships. The five-day meet will be held at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, Calif., August 18-22.
"We're very proud of Hannah and the accomplishments she has achieved this summer," Auburn head coach Brett Hawke said. "She is making great strides in becoming a solid competitor for Auburn and on the international stage."
The Cornwall, Ontario, product competed at the 2010 Canadian Summer National Championships in Victoria, British Columbia, July 28-August 1.
Riordan recorded four finishes in the top four, including a first-place finish as the second leg of the 400 free relay. The team set a new Canadian record with a time of 3:42.76.
Individually, Riordan finished second in the 50 free with a time of 25.77. She took third in the 100 free (55.86) and fourth in the 50 back (29.36). Riordan also competed in the 100 back, taking 10th in a time of 1:02.38.
