Fort Payne, AL -
FORT PAYNE, AL (WAFF) - A transfer truck hauling hundreds of bottles of beer collided with a concrete wall on Highway 35.
The crash sent hundreds of gallons of Bud Light into Joe Faulkner's yard.
The wreck happened Thursday at about 5:40 p.m. on Wallace Avenue, known locally as Joe's Truck Stop. The truck carrying hundreds of 12 packs missed the curve and ended up on its side against the concrete barrier that divides Highway 35 with Faulkner's yard.
Fort Payne firefighters and emergency responders worked about 45 minutes to free the driver, 41-year-old Glenn Dewayne Alston of Memphis, TN, who was not seriously injured.
Alston was driving a 2007 Mack truck owned by WSE Transportation out of Elm Springs, AR. He was taken to the hospital and is in fair condition.
It took crews 10 hours to clean up the spilled beer bottles and cardboard boxes.
