HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The July 4th celebrations across the valley are shaping up to be even bigger than previous years.
There are several city and business sponsored events around North Alabama that will feature great live music, food, and professional fireworks displays.
Cities we found that are planning celebrations for the 4th include Madison, Huntsville, Athens, Decatur, Guntersville, Cherokee, Albertville, Boaz, Scottsboro,Cullman, and Florence.
Huntsville - Bridge Street Fourth of July Fireworks
Fireworks with the Stars (July 3rd)
The Huntsville Stars will have a post-game fireworks show to celebrate our nation's independence. Sponsored by Comcast.
Florence - Spirit of Freedom Festival
Held annually on July 4th at McFarland Park in Florence. Thousands of people gather each year to enjoy live music from some of the biggest names in the music business, family fun, and various other activities.
The celebration concludes with an impressive fireworks show illuminating the beautiful Tennessee River. The fireworks show is one of the largest in the Tennessee Valley.
Madison - Fourth of July Celebration at Dublin Park
The Madison Parks and Recreation Department is planning a fun filled Fourth of July celebration at Dublin Park that will be even bigger than previous years. The festivities will occur on Sunday, July 4th and will commence at 2:00 PM. There will be free inflatable activities including a kiddie corner, 70-ft obstacle course, three in one combo, 62-ft water slide, children's circus train, and many more.
Cherokee - Fourth of July Celebration
This festival on Main Street begins at 8:00 AM. There will be food, arts and crafts, street dance, music and fireworks.
Town Creek - Star Spangled Spectacular
The 4th annual Star Spangled Spectacular features music from live bands, children's play area, shooting exhibitions and fireworks.
Guntersville - All-American 4th of July
One part of the Year of Small Towns and Downtowns event for Guntersville. The entire All-American 4th of July celebration includes Whole Backstage Theater production, live entertainment, children's activities, street parade, historic walking tour, ghost tour, boat parade, and 2 nights of fireworks.
Boaz - Free summer concert
Starts at 7:00 PM on Dyar Blvd. Well known artist will perform with one of the best fireworks display in the country following. Everyone bring your lawn chair.
Scottsboro - Fourth of July on the Tennessee River
This event has entertainment, music, (featuring 6 acts from up-and-coming Nashville artists), a huge boat parade, food, and a big fireworks show at the amphitheater.
Decatur - Spirit of America Festival
This is the area's largest free patriotic festival featuring awards, Miss Point Mallard Pageant, children's activities, musical entertainment and a large fireworks display.
Athens - Reliance Bank Fire Cracker Festival
Each July, as darkness falls over the Tennessee Valley, a familiar tradition gets underway. It's much more than a fireworks show; it's a celebration of our nation's independence. Bring the family early for games, live music and concessions. Fireworks begin at dusk.
Cullman - Smith Lake Park 4th of July Festival
July 3rd, 4th & 5th Festival and Fireworks Show - Live Entertainment, food and crafts vendors, huge fireworks display. Admission $5/person, ages 5 and under get in free. Admission includes swim, slide and mini-golf. For more info, call (256) 734-3369.
