Morgan County Agents and Hartselle Police discover meth lab

HARTSELLE, AL (WAFF) - The Morgan County Sheriff's Narcotics and Violent Crimes Task Force along with Hartselle Police Officer arrested two people after finding a meth lab.

47-year-old Franklin Robert Phillips of Hartselle was arrested for unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance 1st degree and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

39-year-old Donna Wood Vick, of Decatur, was charged with loitering in a drug house.

Wednesday, officers went to Phillips residence to execute a search warrant off Bethel Road in Hartselle.

Agents found a meth lab in a tool shed behind the house along with finished methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The Hartselle Fire Department responded to the scene to help with decontamination, and the Morgan County Animal Control removed the animals from the residence.

Officers found that the house and the yard were monitored with an extensive surveillance system.

Agents say Phillips already had four active arrest warrants that included unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance 2nd, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Phillips and Vick were transported to the Morgan County Jail. No bond was set for Phillips, and Vick's bond was $300.00.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
