Auburn to Build New Football Building

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn will build a $16 million indoor
practice facility for the football team and other sports.
The university's Board of Trustees Friday approved plans that
include a 100-yard field and will allow the football, baseball,
softball, soccer and track teams to practice indoors during bad
weather.
Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs said the university plans to
raise private funds to pay for the entire 92,000-square-foot
building. Football coach Gene Chizik called it "a huge step
forward for our football facilities."
It will be located adjacent to the current football practice
fields behind the athletic complex. The athletic department plans
to continue using the current fieldhouse after the new building is
finished.
