ATHENS, AL (WAFF)- The Limestone County Board of Education has decided to sell Reid school.
The school closed this year. Students who would have normally attended Reid will now go to Tanner High School.
The school has been around for a while, but now that it's available, how do you go about selling a former school building?
"Location is important and the facility is a little different because it's a school so I don't know what kind of companies or organizations or others would be willing and able to use that facility," said Limestone County Superintendent Barry Carroll.
"A school is like any other property. It presents a challenge, you have to identify a unique user," said Butler Realty broker Wade Boggs.
Boggs said that could be in the form of light industry, warehousing, community center or even a church.
