Huntsville Stars Roster Moves

Catcher Martin Maldonado was promoted from the Brevard County Manatees and added to the Huntsville Stars roster today.  Maldonado replaces Jonathan Lucroy who was promoted to AAA Nashville yesterday.  The Stars roster is now back to full strength at 24.

The Stars are at Jackson, Tennessee, for the third game of a five game series against the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx and are riding a four-game winning streak.

The team returns to The Joe on Saturday for a five game series against the Chattanooga Lookouts.  Gates open at 5:00 pm Saturday, game time is scheduled for 6:00 pm.  Every Saturday is Costco Saturday; flash your Costco membership card at the Box Office and receive 50% off your ticket purchase.

For those that don't want to cook tonight and want some live music, Microwave Dave will be performing at the Bandito Burrito on South Parkway at 6:00 pm.

The seats directly behind the Stars bullpen bench have been taped off.  Last week we had a young fan who had 'a reversal of fortune' after downing a couple blue slushies, ice cream and some other ballpark fare.  The unlucky recipients in the bullpen received their surprise donation down their backs and one of the guys trotted out to the mound during the game where catcher Jonathan Lucroy remarked that he smelled pretty ripe.  The unnamed pitcher made it thru the game, although we think it went above and beyond the call of duty while wearing a funkadelic jersey.  Hence, those few seats are now cordoned off to allow a buffer between the bullpen pitchers and the fans behind them to prevent any accidental discharges of stomach contents in the future.  The bullpen pitchers appreciate your understanding.

Well, that makes me want to run out and get a burrito and listen to Microwave Dave.  Have good night, everybody.
