                                    The Aaron's 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series race is set for Saturday, April 24: Two-day Saturday/Sunday tickets start at $49; Single-day Saturday tickets are $40 for grandstands and $50 for towers. Kids age 11 and younger admitted free with a ticketed adult (Frontstretch Lower General Admission Grandstands only).

INTEREST:              DOUBLE DUTY

At least 12 drivers will attempt to run both the Aaron's 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series on Saturday, April 24 and the Aaron's 499 Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, April 25.

 

Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Brian Vickers and Jamie McMurray have all found Talladega's Gatorade Victory Lane at the highest level of NASCAR competition and will be joined by two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series race winner Joe Nemechek.  Paul Menard, who owns an ARCA Racing Series 250 win at Talladega, is also entered in both events. 

 

Other NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers competing in the 312 are: Joey Logano, Clint Bowyer, Robert Richardson Jr., Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards.

 

 

VARIETY IN VICTORIES

Of the 18 Aaron's 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series races at Talladega Superspeedway, there have been 15 diffferent winners, with Joe Nemechek and Martin Truex Jr. as the only repeat winners. Last year's Aaron's 312 winner, David Ragan, joined other one-time Aaron's 312 winners Tony Stewart, Ernie Irvan, Dale Earnhardt, Ken Schrader, Chad Little, Greg Sacks, Mark Martin, Terry Labonte, Mike McLaughlin, Jason Keller, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Bobby Labonte.

 

ALLGAIER CARRIES SERIES-ONLY REGULAR FLAG

Despite his second consecutive finish outside the top 10 with an 11th-place finish at Texas, Justin Allgaier was able to jump one spot in the points standings to fourth.  He continues to be the highest-ranked series-only regular in the standings over the first seven races.

 

JASON KELLER CLOSING IN ON 500TH START

Entering the season, the series' all-time starts leader was primed to become the first NASCAR Nationwide Series driver to reach 500 starts.  At Talladega, Keller is seeking his 497th start.

 

SPECIAL PAINT SCHEMES

Trevor Bayne's No. 99 Aaron's Dream Machine will be adorned with the artwork of Alexander Kovach, age 7, the winner of Aaron's "2010 Color Your Way to Talladega" contest.

 

Donnie Neunberger's No. 52 IHOP Chevrolet will honor the West Virginia miners who lost their lives during the recent mining tragedy.  West Virginia International House of Pancake store owner Bob Sharp have been supporting rescue teams by providing them with food during these difficult times.

 

PRE-RACE DIGNITARIES

Nashville recording artist Brittini Black will sing the National Anthem for Saturday's Aaron's 312.  Dr. Bart Owen of Alabama Raceway Ministries and the Talladega Superspeedway Security Services Chaplain, will deliver the invocation prior to the race.  Thomas Green, Todd Schroeder and Andrew Coughlan of the Wounded Warrior Project, will deliver the driver's command as Grand Marshall and Gerard Claseman, winner of the Aaron's Weekend of Your Dreams sweepstakes will wave the green flag.
