HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The 2010 Launchpad finals will be held at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The presentations should begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, April 16th in the first floor auditorium of Wilson Hall.
The event is free and open to the public. The finalists in the competition are RogueIP from UAHuntsville, SLP Diagnostics from UAHuntsville, Novicure Biotechnology from University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Construction Solutions, Inc. from Auburn University, Endomimetics from UAB, HydrogeNow from the University of Alabama, Sutterlin Technologies from the University of Alabama, Swift Biotechnology from the University of South Alabama, and VIPAAR Inc. from UAB.
Each university-related company will compete for a share of $175,000 in seed capital to launch their business. The award ceremonies will be held at approximately 2 p.m.
Alabama Launchpad is a partnership between seven research universities in the state and the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama. The goal of the organization and the competition is to support and promote high-growth entrepreneurship at Alabama's universities. Funding is provided by the participating universities, the business community and the State of Alabama.
