HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Wednesday the University of Alabama Huntsville's 10 week, campus-wide fitness challenge wrapped up. But it ended a bit differently this year. Teams have been competing to see who could earn the most points based on exercise and healthy behavior.

"This is one way we can all charge on around the campus, walking at my pace is not exactly charging, but it's all part of bringing the campus together again," said Dr. David Williams, University President.

"It promotes health, fitness and that's what I'm about," said Kenya Cole, a student and staff member.

This year's challenge came to an end with a mile-long walk around campus in remembrance of three professors in the university's biology department, who lost their lives in a campus shooting in February.

"It was a walk for very great people, actually Dr. Davis very health very fit and so was Dr. Podila and Dr. Johnson."

320 people took part in this year's "Just Move It" challenge, creating more than 620 thousand minutes of exercise between them.
