MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. -- The University of North Alabama golf team managed high-wind conditions that prevented any sub-par rounds as the Lions moved out to a five-stroke lead after one round of the INA Spring Classic at the Roberts Trent Jones at the Shoals Fighting Joe course.
UNA's Brett Munson was one of just three players to shoot even par 72 and the Lions' Jake Greer had a 74 to pace UNA to a 10-over-par 298 total. Delta State is second at 303, followed by Tennessee Tech (306), Indianapolis (307) and Lindenwood (307) in the 20-team event.
Kyle Roy of Tampa and Morgan Leigh of Lindenwood are tied for the individual lead with Munson at 72.
North Alabama's Ty;ler Ekenberg is tied for ninth with a 75, while Andrew Freeman turned in a 77 and Alex Hirai an 80.
The tournament concludes with a final round Tuesday.
