LIONS ROLL TO 12-2 WIN AT CBU
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A nine-run seventh inning blew open a 3-1 game and gave the University of North Alabama a 12-2 win over Christian Brothers Wednesday. UNA trailed 1-0 early and tied the game with a run in the third inning. The Lions went on top for good with two runs in the sixth to make it 3-1, then added nine runs in the seventh to push it to 12-1. CBU rallied for a run i n the bottom of the seventh but the game ended due to the 10-run rule as UNA improved to 15-13 overall.
Drew Clark started for UNA and allowed one run on one hit in two innings of work. Kevin Henry came on in the third for UNA and shutout the Buccaneers for four innings, allowing just two hits. For his efforts, Henry earned his first win of the season. Neil Brown pitched the seventh for the Lions and allowed a run on two hits.
Ross Parker led UNA at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and three runs batted in. Kevin Williams was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. North Alabama will play a three-game series at Lambuth this weekend in Jackson, Tenn.
