JSU's Todd Cunningham Named OVC Player of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Jacksonville State's Todd Cunningham has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Cunningham hit .636 (7-for-11) with four runs, four doubles, two home runs and three RBI as Jacksonville State won two of three games from Sun Belt favorite Middle Tennessee over the weekend.

The preseason All-American had multiple hits in every game, including six extra-base hits. He had a career-best 1.545 slugging percentage and a .733 on-base percentage and did not strike out. He now has a team-high eight-game hitting streak.

Jacksonville State returns to action on Wednesday as the Gamecocks host in-state rival Samford. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. at Rudy Abbott Field.
