FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - A Franklin County legislator is trying to change the Alabama state song nearly eight decades after it was officially recognized.
Alabama, Alabama, we will aye be true to thee.
That is the first line of the state song but if a Red Bay house member's bill goes through the state legislature, Alabamians will have to learn a completely new jingle.
Representative Johnny Morrow, D-Red Bay, wants to change the song to "Stars fell on Alabama."
The debate will go in front of a public forum on Saturday morning at 10 at the University of North Alabama.
