FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - A short police pursuit ended with a car crashing into a house.

It happened around noon on Friday at the intersection of Cherokee Street and Irvine Avenue.

Investigators were out looking for Timothy Funches, 42, of Florence, because of two outstanding warrants.

When they spotted him he took off.

A short police chase ended when instead of turning right or left onto Irvine, Funches continued straight into the side of a Florence home.

Nobody was in the residence at the time. Both Funches and a woman inside the vehicle were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Officers said the car hit the house so hard it was completely stuck and when a tow truck tried to pull it out it nearly ripped off the entire wall.

Funches was expected to be charged in the crime but Florence Police were waiting to say what those might be while they finished their investigation.
