GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A Marshall County grand jury will now hear the case of a man accused of attempting to abduct a 12-year-old girl.

Friday, Limbaugh waived his right to a preliminary hearing before a judge.

But he also got a sharp bond reduction. Bond was reduced from a half million dollars to $50,000.

27-year-old Jason Eric Limbaugh is charged with first degree attempted kidnapping stemming from an incident in late January.

Limbaugh was charged after he allegedly attempted to abduct a 12-year-old girl from her Circle Drive home.

But police said she was able to fight off her attacker and get back inside the home and her mother called police.

Fitting a description given to police, Limbaugh was picked up a short distance away on Ringold street.

Investigators have said they know of no connection or relationship between Limbaugh and the girl.

Should Limbaugh make bond, he is ordered not to have contact with the victim in this case.

Prosecutors said they hope the case will be presented before a grand jury soon.
