On-time graduation rates need to improve

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - New numbers show a big need to increase "on time" graduation rates in Alabama.

A new formula being used shows only 67% of Alabama high school students graduate with a standard diploma in four years.

The state superintendent said this new method for measuring the graduation rate is more accurate.

He also said it will help the state make improvements in the long run.
