AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 5/8 Auburn swimming and diving team heads to the University of Georgia to compete at the 2010 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships at the Gabrielsen Natatorium, Feb. 17-20.
"We are looking forward to the continuation of history in the making for Auburn swimming and diving," head coach Brett Hawke said. "The men are definitely in a good position to battle for another conference title. We're ready for the big challenges ahead, ready to fight and have really done all the mental and physical training necessary to be at this point.
"The women have gone through a tough dual season and have come away ready for a tight conference contest. They are really looking forward to the races and we are all very excited for the challenges ahead for them."

ESPNU is slated to broadcast the 2010 SEC Championships as the network will tape the meet and air the men on Feb. 28th at 8 p.m. and the women's portion on March 2nd, 2010, at 6 p.m. Former Auburn great and Olympian Rowdy Gaines will offer commentary and analysis throughout the meet.

AUBURN IN THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Auburn men have claimed the last 13 SEC Championships and have won
15 overall conference titles. With the 13 consecutive championships, the Tigers and the Florida Gators are tied for the most consecutive conference titles. Overall, the men have won 164 individual titles and have recorded at least one individual championship in each of the 21 events in the championship program. While being very successful in all events at the SEC meet, the Tigers' best event is the 50 free as Auburn has won the event 16 times since 1980. This includes 11 of the past 13 years.
